Scouting in Rotherham offers a fun filled, exciting, interesting and active programme of both indoor and outdoor activities, for young people aged 6 to 25 years old.
In 2011 we celebrated 100 years of Scouting in Rotherham and a lot of fabulous activities took place. Now we must look forward to a new year 2012 - with a new District Commissioner, Neil Leatherland, at the helm - once he has taken up position we shall know what changes, if any, he has in mind to make Rotherham District even better than it already is. I am sure one thing he will be interested in is looking at the Census figures which will be asked for shortly - will the District have grown since the last Census, early in 2011 - hopefully the answer will be yes!
As ever Scouting in Rotherham could advance further if we could persuade more adults - men, women, young, old to join us in the adventure - sadly too many groups at the moment are managing with a very limited band of adult leaders and some areas would welcome the establishment of a Scout Group if only there were adults available to run it!
